Underwriting Assistant — Bristol (with hybrid working). Time Type: Full time. Worker Type: Employee.

We’re on the lookout for a proactive and detail-oriented Underwriting Assistant to support our experienced and high-performing Underwriting team based in Bristol. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a dynamic and evolving area of the business. You’ll play a key role in supporting our Underwriters with efficient administrative and operational assistance, helping to drive the success of our company business. We’re passionate about your development and are committed to providing comprehensive training to help you grow your skills and advance your career with us.

Your new role
  • Assisting our Underwriters by providing information and support to allow them to negotiate rates, terms and conditions for new and existing business.
  • Building and developing strong relationships with your stakeholders, including Underwriters and other members of the wider team.
  • Being aware of the annual business plan and its context so that you can make decisions and prioritise appropriately.
  • Positively promote the department, division, and company to maximise brand leverage.
  • Adhere to underwriting standards, legal requirements and good practice to minimise risk and maximise efficiency.
  • Keep abreast of market trends and demonstrate market cycle awareness.
About you
  • Previous experience in an administrative role in a corporate environment, ideally insurance or financial services
  • A collaborative mindset and excellent communication skills; a true team player.
  • Confidence using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access.
  • A keen eye for detail and a commitment to accuracy in everything you do.
