About the Role

Our client, owned by a global broking giant and partnered with one of the largest insurers worldwide, is a leading MGA specializing in the sports sector, notably golf, football, and rugby. They are expanding their market share and are seeking an underwriter to manage both renewal and new business, dealing with bespoke sports insurance products such as Commercial Combined, Property, Liability, and Specialist coverages.

Responsibilities

1. Managing relationships with regional brokers, colleagues, and clients across the UK.
2. Identifying and offering solutions to existing clients and brokers by assessing insurance risks.
3. Underwriting new and existing business within delegated authority.
4. Communicating effectively with senior staff to ensure clarity and maintain positive relationships.
5. Providing excellent customer service in line with SLAs.
6. Developing profitable relationships with brokers and colleagues, both virtually and face-to-face.
7. Issuing policies by calculating premiums and negotiating terms.

Candidate Profile

Ideal candidates will have a commercial underwriting background, with experience in golf or sports insurance preferred. Applications are also welcomed from outstanding Commercial Underwriters (Commercial Combined, Property, Casualty) with a passion for sports, or technically skilled Brokers experienced in delegated authority schemes. Note: We are seeking candidates who are not focused on auto-rated business.

Essential skills include high numeracy, excellent IT proficiency, stakeholder management skills, and a collaborative attitude.
