Qualifications

  • Technical knowledge of Property Treaty class and international markets.
  • Client/broker facing role experience is preferred.

Job description

This is an opportunity to work within a well-established, friendly and collaborative team environment where you will be part of the underwriting team managing risk through the process from initial acceptance up to outwards reinsurance.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and assist in the maintenance of the Property Treaty product line
  • Negotiate, assess and underwrite renewal and new business in a timely and efficient manner in line with the business plan and personal authority limits.
  • Support the Property Treaty team with broker interaction, modelling, strategic thinking, emerging risk analysis and business planning
  • Develop and maintain relationships with brokers and clients with a view to the production of new business
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and internal procedures, aggregate management for peak risks
  • Compile underwriting reports and presentations as appropriate
  • Maintain good relationships with both external and internal parties as appropriate
  • Compile statistics and understand performance of all risks and accounts
  • Review and finalise contract wordings

Skills & Experience:

  • Lloyd’s or company market experience (broking or underwriting),in a client/broker facing role
  • Technical knowledge of the Property Treaty class with experience of the International markets preferred
  • IT (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) literate toan advanced level
  • Working knowledge of Cat modelling tool outputs at policy and portfolio levels, eg RMS.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Strong analytical skills and problem solving abilities.
