Job Title: Underwriter

Our client, a motor finance lender, is looking to appoint an ambitious Underwriter to join their growing team and support expansion plans.

The role will be responsible for:

1. Assessing a customer’s ability to afford repayments for their loan, reviewing & analyzing customer account information and data provided by credit referencing agencies.
2. Ensuring there is sufficient data to produce accurate credit reports.
3. Aligning the credit profile with the firm’s risk appetite.
4. Establishing lending limits for individual customers.
5. Verifying that the vehicle meets lending criteria.
6. Engaging and collaborating with stakeholders both internally and externally, such as the Acquisition team and brokers.

This is a key role supporting the continued growth of an exciting business, offering opportunities for progression and development.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of one year of underwriting experience within a motor finance firm. You should be analytical with a keen eye for detail, able to communicate effectively with stakeholders, comfortable working in a high-paced, high-volume environment, and possess the adaptability and ingenuity to explore alternative outcomes to benefit both the firm and customers.
