Job summary

Lawes Consulting Group is recruiting an Underwriter - Life Science in Manchester. You will manage renewal portfolios across Property, Liability, Professional Indemnity and Cyber risks for life sciences clients, from mid-market to multinational programmes.

You will build broker and client relationships, collaborate with underwriting and distribution teams, and contribute to portfolio performance through rigorous risk assessment.

Qualifications

• Experience managing broker and client relationships in insurance.
• Exposure to Life Sciences sector is beneficial but not required.
• Solid underwriting and risk assessment capability.
• Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and governance.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain broker and client relationships to support retention, growth and cross-selling.
• Collaborate with underwriting, claims, risk engineering and distribution teams to deliver tailored solutions.
• Contribute to portfolio performance through disciplined underwriting and risk assessment.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, policy standards and internal governance processes.
• Support multinational programmes and cross-functional initiatives within a specialist commercial insurance environment.

Required Skills

• Committed to continuous professional development and expanding both technical and commercial expertise.
• Solid Property & Casualty underwriting experience, with knowledge of Professional Indemnity and Cyber risks considered advantageous.
• Experience supporting multinational programmes is desirable.
