About the role

Ecclesiastical Insurance, part of Benefact Group, is seeking a Underwriter to join our Art and Private Client team in our London office.

The role involves delivering exceptional customer service as part of the underwriting team, supporting Ecclesiastical’s commitment to a “right first time” approach.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, negotiate, and profitably underwrite new and existing business within your authority, aligned with Ecclesiastical strategy.
• Plan, prioritize, and manage your work to meet objectives and SLAs, ensuring excellent customer service.
• Communicate effectively via telephone and face-to-face to maintain strong internal and external relationships.
• Act on audit results and implement improvement plans within deadlines.
• Operate within regulatory frameworks and escalate risks as needed.
• Handle complaints according to company policy.
• Expand your technical and niche knowledge through informal networking and formal training (e.g., CII, CPD).

Knowledge, skills, and experience

• Ability to plan, prioritize, and manage work to achieve targets.
• Accurate management and use of information.
• Cert CII or a commitment to achieve it within an agreed timeframe.
• Effective communication skills.
• Dedication to delivering exceptional service as an individual and team player.
• Understanding of relevant regulations for customer outcomes.
• Knowledge of data protection and confidentiality importance.
