About the role
Ecclesiastical Insurance, part of Benefact Group, is seeking a Underwriter to join our Art and Private Client team in our London office.
The role involves delivering exceptional customer service as part of the underwriting team, supporting Ecclesiastical’s commitment to a “right first time” approach.

Key responsibilities
- Develop, negotiate, and profitably underwrite new and existing business within your authority, aligned with Ecclesiastical strategy.
- Plan, prioritize, and manage your work to meet objectives and SLAs, ensuring excellent customer service.
- Communicate effectively via telephone and face-to-face to maintain strong internal and external relationships.
- Act on audit results and implement improvement plans within deadlines.
- Operate within regulatory frameworks and escalate risks as needed.
- Handle complaints according to company policy.
- Expand your technical and niche knowledge through informal networking and formal training (e.g., CII, CPD).
Knowledge, skills, and experience
- Ability to plan, prioritize, and manage work to achieve targets.
- Accurate management and use of information.
- Cert CII or a commitment to achieve it within an agreed timeframe.
- Effective communication skills.
- Dedication to delivering exceptional service as an individual and team player.
- Understanding of relevant regulations for customer outcomes.
- Knowledge of data protection and confidentiality importance.
