Job description
Overview

Where you come in? You will work alongside the Underwriting Director for Casualty, taking primary responsibility for FI & D&O lines. You will be chiefly responsible for the adherence to the agreed business plan and ultimately underwriting performance for this class of business.

Responsibilities
  • You will work with the Portfolio Management team to define and optimise annual plan strategy, reflective of market conditions.
  • Alongside the Underwriting Director you will set underwriting appetite taking steps to ensure the KiDS portfolio is in line with said appetite to maintain a profitable portfolio.
  • Provide leadership and development guidance to directly reporting Underwriters, assisting in strategic conversations with Broker partners when required to communicate underwriting appetite and rationale.
  • Work alongside the Algorithmic and Pricing teams as the subject matter expert to bring specialty product and market knowledge to bear in order to shape the underwriting, pricing and distribution models.
  • Accountable for providing insight for various committees including but not limited to the Portfolio Underwriting Committee, Underwriting Governance Committee, Performance vs Plan, Reserving Committee and Major Loss Panel.
