An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Commercial Underwriter within our Existing Business team. What They Will Be Doing
- Assess and evaluate risks associated with existing insurance policies to determine appropriate renewal terms and conditions for Charity, Faith, and Recruitment products.
- Manage the end-to-end renewal process for existing business, ensuring compliance with company guidelines and regulatory requirements.
- Communicate effectively with brokers to understand their needs and provide tailored solutions for their clients.
- Prepare and process documentation for policy amendments and renewals.
- Analyse market trends to recommend competitive pricing strategies and coverage options.
- Collaborate with the underwriting team, insurers, and MGUs as appropriate to ensure a seamless customer experience.
- Ensure all underwriting activities comply with relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies.
- Support the team leader in renewals, assisting with the preparation and distribution of renewal documentation.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Previous experience in underwriting, ideally with a focus on existing business, MTAs, and renewals within the insurance sector.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess risk and make informed decisions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective client and broker interaction.
- High attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and decision-making.
- Good understanding of cross-class insurance products and current market trends across Property, Liability, and Executive risks.
- Previous experience in the Charity, Faith, or Recruitment sectors is advantageous.
- Proficiency in underwriting software and Microsoft Office applications.
- A collaborative team player with a proactive and customer-focused approach.
- Relevant educational background (e.g., degree in business, finance, or related field) and professional underwriting qualifications are advantageous.
