Job Description:

We are looking for an Underwriter to join our leading and highly successful Casualty Reinsurance team based in London. Your role will involve engaging with clients, brokers, and AXA XL stakeholders across all aspects of the underwriting process, including renewal business and new opportunities. You should have the technical ability to independently price business and a solid understanding of Casualty coverage. You will work closely with portfolio managers to ensure risk appetite is optimized and will source new opportunities, leveraging your communication and relationship skills to grow the portfolio profitably. Additionally, you will participate in business planning, monitor financial exposure, and support claims settlement processes.

Responsibilities include:

• Managing and developing a designated portfolio
• Handling small and less complex accounts initially
• Understanding markets and clients to target risks within appetite
• Serving existing clients, managing acceptances, and business development
• Conducting meetings with clients and brokers independently
• Collaborating with Actuaries, Finance, and Contract Teams for technical analysis
• Presenting business plans and risks to senior management
• Understanding underwriting systems and liaising with global teams
• Contributing to the development of the global International Casualty portfolio
• Aligning with AXA XL Reinsurance's strategy and financial targets
