Job summary

Rotate is seeking an experienced US Property Underwriter in London to join its growing underwriting team. You will underwrite US Property risks within your delegated authority, assess submissions, exposures and risk quality, and price new business and renewals.

The ideal candidate has established underwriting authority, proven US Property expertise, and a strong background in London Market insurance. MGA or Lloyd's experience is highly valued alongside independence within a growing team.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience in the London insurance market.
• Proven US Property underwriting experience.
• Existing underwriting authority and the confidence to make decisions.
• Experience underwriting US-domiciled Property risks.
• Experience with MGA, Lloyd's syndicate or London Market insurers.
• Strong technical understanding of Property underwriting, risk assessment and pricing.
• Experience dealing directly with brokers.
• Ability to work independently within a growing underwriting team.

We are working with a growing London Market insurance business that is looking to appoint an experienced US Property Underwriter to join its underwriting team.

This is an opportunity for an established Underwriter who has already developed their own underwriting authority and is looking for the next step in their career, rather than someone looking to make their first move into underwriting.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in US Property, ideally gained within an MGA, Lloyd's syndicate or another London Market environment with a significant focus on US-domiciled risks.

The Role

You will be responsible for assessing, selecting and underwriting US Property risks within your delegated authority, working closely with brokers and building relationships across the London Market.

The role will involve:

• Underwriting US Property risks within agreed authority
• Assessing submissions, exposures, occupancies and risk quality
• Analysing and pricing new business and renewals
• Making informed underwriting decisions in line with appetite and guidelines
• Developing and maintaining broker relationships
• Managing a portfolio of US Property business
• Monitoring portfolio performance and exposure
• Working closely with senior underwriting colleagues on more complex risks
• Contributing to the development and growth of the US Property book
• Maintaining strong technical and regulatory underwriting standards
