Co-op in Manchester is offering a 12-month work placement for an Undergraduate Food Sustainability Policy Co-ordinator, starting June 2027. You’ll gain hands-on experience supporting Co-op's approach to ethical sourcing, sustainability and food policy, working with colleagues across the business and suppliers.

The role involves project coordination, data analysis and stakeholder engagement, with a mix of home, office, and supplier-site activities.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of current challenges in global food supply chains
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Analytical and problem-solving ability with MS Office

Responsibilities

• Coordinate projects improving transparency across Co-op supply chains
• Maintain project plans, actions and milestones
• Build relationships with colleagues and suppliers
• Support data analysis, reporting and insights
• Assist in sustainability communications and internal campaigns
• Collaborate with suppliers on ethical sourcing and decarbonisation
• Research sustainability topics and regulatory trends
• Prepare presentations and progress reports
