Job summary

Airbus in Filton, Bristol invites undergraduates to join the A330/A340 UK Chief Engineering team for a 12.5-month placement starting 16 August 2027. You’ll contribute to product evolution and support airworthiness in a highly experienced, autonomous team.

The role offers hybrid working with 35 hours per week, and a friendly, international environment. Applicants must be an undergraduate for the entire placement and should include a CV and Cover Letter outlining motivation and suitability.

Qualifications

• Studying toward an Engineering degree in Aerospace, Aeronautical, Mechanical or Systems Engineering.
• Ability to prioritise tasks to meet deadlines.
• Knowledge of project management principles is desirable.
• Proficient written and oral communication skills.
• Keen to build relationships and work collaboratively.
• Proactive and self-motivated to achieve team objectives.

Responsibilities

• Part of the Chief Engineering team involved with product evolution by defining new aircraft technologies.
• Liaising across Overall Aircraft Design, Engineering, Airworthiness, and Supply Chain teams.
• Support continued airworthiness and safety of the fleet.
• Understand airline operational requirements and propose design improvements.
• Help improve processes by identifying inefficiencies in existing methods.
• Develop technically and personally in a multinational environment.
