Job description

Responsibilities
  • Independently perform ultrasound examinations, exercising judgment to recognize and record pathologies and abnormalities necessary for diagnosis.
  • Review patient’s medical records and clinical information to evaluate the patient’s condition and determine the diagnostic information the physician is seeking.
  • Summarize and document findings for radiologists and communicate with referring physicians, radiologists, nursing staff, and other departments about the examination.
  • Maintain current knowledge of the specialty by attending seminars, in-services, and reading journals.
  • Assist specialty physicians in performing invasive procedures (e.g., amniocentesis and biopsies) by providing ultrasound guidance for needle entry.
  • Perform all other related duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications and Specifications
  • A graduate from an accredited Ultrasound program is required.
  • A minimum of six months of job-related experience or equivalent is required.
  • CPR Certification is required.
  • RDMS certification is required.
  • RVT certification is required for the Ultrasonographer position.
