Ultra-Low-Latency Platform Engineer (Colocation) - London / Singapore - Leading Global Quant Fund

Salary: Competitive

Our client is a leading quant and systematic hedge fund, leveraging a deep knowledge of trading, technology, and operations to deliver high-quality, uncorrelated returns. They are seeking a Linux Platform Engineer with a background in ultra low latency systems to join their team in London or Singapore.

In this role, you will provide low-latency infrastructure solutions across 400+ servers at 22+ global sites. Your responsibilities include project delivery, support escalations, monitoring, automation, security, documentation, and capacity management. You will collaborate with business partners, application owners, clients, vendors, and internal teams to deliver Linux-based systems (CentOS and Rocky) in response to requirements and daily requests. Additionally, you will proactively automate routine tasks and promote Infrastructure as Code practices.

Requirements

1. 5+ years' experience working with Linux (RHEL/CentOS/Rocky preferred) in large-scale operations, systems engineering, and performance.
2. Experience in server management and support: HP, SuperMicro, Dell, overclock servers.
3. Proficiency with low latency network interfaces and kernel bypass (configuration and optimization): Solarflare with Onload, Mellanox with VMA.
4. In-depth knowledge of server network stack configuration, tuning, and troubleshooting including TCP, UDP (unicast/multicast), NTP, PTP, Wireshark/TShark.
5. Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
6. Excellent critical and analytical problem-solving skills.

Nice to have

1. Good knowledge of system hardware/OS tuning and performance troubleshooting, understanding of CPU architectures.
2. Experience with build and configuration management tools, specifically Chef or Ansible.
3. Experience with observability tools, particularly Grafana & Prometheus.
4. Experience with scripting & automation (Python, Ruby, Bash).
