Salary: £132.44 - £149.48 (Inclusive of Holiday Pay). Pay is calculated based on age, experience, and qualifications.

Position: Ultimate Tech Leader

Organization: King Edward VI High School for Girls

Details:

  • Title: Ultimate Tech Leader
  • Reporting to: Camp Manager
  • Contract: Seasonal work during summer school holidays
  • Hours: Monday to Thursday, 8.30am–5.30pm (starting at 8am on Mondays for setup; overtime paid)

Summary of the Role:

The Ultimate Tech Leader is responsible for delivering the Ultimate Tech programme, ensuring children's welfare and safety. The role involves delivering engaging technology and coding activities to children aged 8-14, managing and motivating a team of Tech Instructors, and liaising with parents and school representatives. The role also involves maintaining high standards of care and safety, with support from a Camp Manager onsite.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and deliver tech activities focusing on participation and skill development
  • Manage a team of staff to ensure quality care and activities
  • Adhere to all policies, procedures, health and safety, and safeguarding protocols
  • Supervise and engage with children outside scheduled activities
  • Manage administrative duties and communicate with parents
  • Act as a role model, embodying the company's values and behaviour standards
  • Perform ad-hoc duties such as equipment maintenance and ordering
  • Deliver structured computer-based activities with provided materials
  • Assist children with questions during activities

Desired Skills and Qualifications:

  • Interest in IT or Computer Science
  • Experience working with children and a passion for developing their IT skills
  • Leadership and management experience, preferably in IT education or holiday camps
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Problem-solving skills and patience
  • Willingness to obtain Paediatric First Aid certification if not already held
  • Experience coding with Python and using Micro:bit is advantageous but not essential
  • Studying towards or holding a computer-based qualification
