Job Summary

Responsible for driving the success of CONMED’s Orthopaedic product portfolio across the UKINORD region, you will take ownership of long-term product and marketing strategies to meet business objectives and gain market share in focused categories, ensuring that both internal and external customer needs are identified, addressed, and met with effective solutions.

Working closely with sales teams and key healthcare professionals across the region, you will ensure CONMED is positioned as a market leader in Orthopaedics.

Key Responsibilities

Business development

  • Contribute to build, and execute the deliverables of, a commercial strategy focused on taking market share in Sports Medicine and Biologics.
  • Lead the strategy with a commercial approach where growing the business and achieving the objectives is the main and daily focus.
  • Opportunistically achieve sales optimization of our Foot & Ankle offer, and our Video & Power capital offer and the disposables associated to it.

Relationship Building & Collaboration

  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with colleagues, key opinion leaders (KOLs), other healthcare professionals, and procurement teams within the UKINORD region.
  • Represent CONMED at key industry events, congresses, and exhibitions, providing technical demonstrations and deep insight into the CONMED Orthopaedic portfolio.
  • Gather feedback from colleagues, surgeons, and other healthcare partnerships to inform product development and positioning strategies.

Technical Support & Expertise

  • As the in-region product expert, provide technical expertise and training to both colleagues and customers.
  • Support the UKINORD Orthopaedics sales team through regular field visits, offering ongoing coaching and mentorship.
  • Deliver ongoing product training to all relevant internal and external parties to ensure they are well-equipped, knowledgeable, and compliant at all times, upholding CONMED’s reputation of excellence within the market.
  • Organise and lead assessment workshops, and other appropriate learning initiatives, to enhance team effectiveness and customer understanding.

Strategic Marketing & Product Management

  • Take full ownership of UKINORD marketing and medical education budget and activities, including national exhibitions, medical education events, local meetings etc.
  • Develop and implement in-region marketing and communication plans for the Orthopaedic portfolio, including product positioning, pricing, targeting, segmentation, and promotion.
  • Take full ownership of product planning and launches, including pre-launch activities, such as market analysis and preparing the sales team to ensure a successful introduction to the market.
  • In addition to overseeing the successful launch of new products, manage and optimise existing product lines to ensure sustained market growth within the region.
  • Ensure the availability of marketing tools, resources, and materials for the sales team to ensure they reach their targets.
  • Implement a UKINORD digital marketing strategy to promote products and events in line with CONMED’s digital guidelines

Medical Education

  • Implement a Medical Education strategy to drive surgeon education throughout the UKINORD Cluster

Distributor Management

  • Working in partnership with the UKINORD Business Unit Director, drive distributor sales through Sports Medicine, Power and Foot & Ankle product education.

NHS Frameworks & Private Healthcare Group Collaboration

  • Working in partnership with the UKINORD Business Unit Director, drive sales through NHS frameworks and Private Healthcare group collaboration

Market Intelligence & Competitive Analysis

  • Conduct ongoing market intelligence to identify opportunities, trends, and competitive positioning within the Orthopaedic sector.
  • Take the initiative in recommending new ideas and business opportunities, sharing findings with all relevant stakeholders.
  • Track and measure the success of marketing initiatives (e.g. ROI analysis), providing monthly reports on performance and progress to management.

Education / Qualifications

Essential

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent.
  • A full, valid driving licence.

Desirable

  • Professional marketing qualification such as CIM.
  • BA Qualification such as MBA/EMBA
  • Registered medical/clinical qualification within Orthopaedics.

Experience, Skill, knowledge and attributes

  • Proven experience in product and marketing management within the Orthopaedic sector, preferably with a focus on sports medicine.
  • Strong technical expertise and the ability to deliver product demonstrations and support to both colleagues and clinical teams.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with healthcare professionals and internal stakeholders.
  • A strategic mindset with a focus on measurable outcomes, including experience in developing and executing successful marketing plans.
  • Strong analytical skills to assess market needs, competitive landscapes, and the performance of marketing initiatives.
  • Willingness to travel extensively within the UKINORD region and internationally as required.
  • Self-driven and tenacious with a positive mindset.
