Job description

Our Global Compliance and Reporting professionals are corporate tax advisers who help businesses with the complex demands of tax reporting and their associated tax advisory, strategy, and controversy requirements. The team continues to grow due to strong client demand.

By integrating deep technical and industry knowledge with established methodologies and cutting-edge tax technologies, they work with a wide range of large and complex multinational companies to develop and implement effective, practical, and sustainable tax strategies.

The opportunity

Due to growth, we are looking for an experienced Corporate Tax Manager in our Cambridge or Luton Office. The role offers the opportunity to work on some of the largest and most exciting clients in the market, supporting them as they navigate an increasingly complex tax environment.

Most importantly, you will be responsible for building and maintaining trusted relationships with clients, acting as their day-to-day contact, and ensuring they have access to the full range of services available at EY.

Your key responsibilities:

  • Grow and maintain relationships with existing and new clients
  • Manage the successful delivery of complex compliance and reporting engagements, as well as related advisory projects
  • Oversee high-quality tax audits for a variety of businesses
  • Provide exceptional client service
  • Collaborate with other tax specialist teams
  • Supervise, coach, and mentor junior staff to support their development
  • Lead team initiatives and foster a successful team environment

Skills and attributes for success:

  • Significant experience in Corporate Tax, from practice or in-house, with a mix of compliance and advisory expertise
  • Strong client relationship management skills
  • Business development ability to identify and convert opportunities
  • Effective time management and ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Enthusiastic team player capable of creating and sustaining effective teams
  • Experience in coaching and developing junior staff
  • Commitment to delivering high-quality work

Minimum qualifications:

  • At least 5 years of experience as a corporate tax practitioner
  • ACA / CA / ACCA / CTA / Tax Inspector qualification, or equivalent breadth of knowledge
