Job summary

This Greenfield tax leadership opportunity in the West Midlands seeks a pragmatic tax leader to own UK tax compliance, govern risks, and manage HMRC interactions with a strong governance framework across VAT and corporation tax. The role targets a Senior Tax Manager or Head of Tax ready to embed robust controls and drive improvements.

You will work closely with Finance, IT and Operations to implement practical processes, enhance governance and expand ownership over Group tax matters over time.

Qualifications

• 8-15 years’ UK tax experience, ideally as a Tax Manager or Senior Tax Manager.
• Strong knowledge of UK VAT and corporation tax.
• Experience building or enhancing tax governance and control frameworks.
• Direct experience working with HMRC Customer Compliance Managers.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead UK tax governance and HMRC relationship.
• Develop and embed Tax Control Framework.
• Oversee VAT and corporation tax compliance.
• Collaborate with Finance, IT, Operations, Legal to implement tax controls.
• Support transfer pricing and intercompany compliance within the Group tax scope.
