We at SKF Vehicle Aftermarket UK (VA) are in search of a proven sales account manager to join the team and contribute to managing, optimising and supporting existing and future independent automotive aftermarket business in the UK & Ireland

UK Sales and Channel Development Manager UK/Ireland – Automotive Aftermarket

Key responsibilities (or What you can expect in the role)

  • Drive and implement the SKF sales strategy within your own area of responsibility, including setting and delivering agreed targets. Provide strong support to the team for the high value clients and strategic negotiations.
  • Ensure consistent, profitable growth in sales revenues through positive planning and collaboration.
  • Manage customer relationships, contributing proactively to network development based on market conditions and requirements.
  • Ensure co-ordination of activity across other functional activities within organisation (e.g., finance, technical departments, customer service, business development).
  • Heavy Duty – Own the UK HD Sector
    • Responsible for local market and become an integral part of the HD management team to deliver portfolio and maximise potential for UKVA and the wider business in line with company strategy.
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with the European Product Team to leverage support and insight.
    • Identify and target customers to grow business, revenue, and profitability.
    • Become a key contributor to the European HD team, attending monthly forums and actively contributing to the product pricing strategy.
  • E-Commerce –:
    • Build strong relationships with the SKF E-Commerce team to leverage support and insight.
    • Scope opportunities to develop sales channel and present to management team.
  • Support process improvements that reduce non-value-added work for sales teams.
  • Travel – the role will require flexibility to travel across the UK and Ireland as required but also be able to effectively manage oneself remotely as there is more digital engagement with customers these days.

Requirements (or We expect you to have/be)

  • Strong communication skills in English, verbal and written.
  • Valid driver’s license; category B.
  • Self-starter, highly motivated, hands on and can-do attitude.
  • Sound negotiation and project management skills.
  • Relevant sales, customer service, and training experience.
  • Experience in supply chain management.
  • Automotive technical knowledge
  • Versatile and flexible, be able to work across departments at management level to drive and support the team.

Some additional information

This position will be home based, ideally located in the West / Midlands- UK.

The successful employee will be required to meet SKF business objectives according to the SKF code of conduct, General Data Protection Regulations and contribute to Business Excellence; follow management instructions and procedures, report Environment Health and Safety (EHS) risks and incidents and follow quality specifications and requirements.
