Job summary

American Express UK is seeking an Analyst in Risk Governance and Frameworks to support the second line of defense, develop the risk governance structure, risk framework and policy library for the UK business.

The role focuses on designing and implementing governance structures, maintaining policy libraries, and ensuring alignment with enterprise risk policies, across UK processes and regulators.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of leadership experience in risk management or a similar role.
• Strong analytical skills and business acumen with a risk-reward perspective.
• Fluency in English (verbal and written).
• Knowledge of UK market regulatory requirements for payments.

Responsibilities

• Support ownership of the Risk Governance Framework and Committee structures.
• Support ILE IRM policy deployment and 2nd Line frameworks.
• Assist in managing Risk Appetite statements, metrics and limits.
• Collaborate with Enterprise teams to align policies with the UK business.
• Escalate and help resolve risks with governance bodies.
