Job summary

Turnitin is seeking an experienced Enterprise Data Architect & Governance Lead for a 9-month, UK-remote engagement. You will define the enterprise data strategy, establish governance and metric standards, and create a roadmap with executives across Finance, Revenue, Product, HR, and Engineering to drive trusted reporting.

You’ll lead architecture design and data policy, ensuring scalable, decision-ready information while balancing autonomy across functions.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in enterprise data governance, architecture, analytics governance, or enterprise reporting controls.
• Experience across Finance, Sales, Revenue Operations, HR, Engineering, Product, and BI.
• Strong data lineage and data quality controls knowledge.
• Experience supporting Executive, Board & Investor Reporting.
• Ability to define governance frameworks, ownership models, and metric standards.
• Proven facilitation of cross-functional agreement on metric definitions and ownership.
• Experience designing operating models for enterprise data functions.
• Familiarity with privacy considerations relating to customer and employee data.
• Strong stakeholder management, facilitation, and executive communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assess current data reporting landscape and identify gaps.
• Define governance principles for enterprise data and approve ownership.
• Develop target-state architecture for enterprise reporting and analytics.
• Establish standards for metric definitions and trusted reporting.
• Recommend an operating model balancing enterprise consistency with functional autonomy.
• Produce a practical roadmap for implementation and investment.
• Facilitate alignment across executives and business stakeholders.
