Job summary

AIG’s Manchester-based UK Regions Property Underwriting Team Lead drives growth and profitability by guiding the regional team across the Birmingham, Manchester, Leeds and Glasgow network. You oversee the UK Regions Property and mid-market package portfolio, ensuring exceptional client service and meeting performance targets.

You will lead local underwriters, manage broker relationships, and ensure compliance with UK regulations while shaping strategy and resource deployment to deliver results

Qualifications

• Strong commercial property insurance background.
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent.
• ACII is an advantage.
• Significant property underwriting experience with a focus on the Middle Market Sector.
• Team leadership and management experience.
• Proven ability to lead client and broker negotiations.
• Understanding of reinsurance and how to structure programmes.
• Multinational experience and knowledge of local markets/regulations is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Executes strategic objectives for Property across the UK Regions portfolio.
• Drive a consistent approach across other AIG UK offices.
• Support and execute product growth strategy for UK Corporate Protect.
• Builds and maintains strong broker and client relationships.
• Optimises Property expertise and deployment within UK Regions.
• Underwrite within approved decision-making standards and authority.
• Provide guidance on underwriting issues and referrals.
• Lead local UK Regions Property underwriting staff.
