We are looking for a UK Quality Manager to join our team in Eastleigh. Reporting to the Quality Director Europe and Country CEO, you will be have multi site responsibility along with three direct reports (Site Quality Engineers). You’ll play a pivotal role in supporting the Country and Regional strategic direction. This position requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership capabilities, operational excellence, and a hands-on approach to driving a culture of quality, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Frequent travel between the three UK manufacturing facilities is required.
You will be responsible for:
Define and deploy the UK-wide quality strategy aligned with Europe Region and Group objectives.
Lead the development and execution of quality improvement initiatives to meet key performance indicators (KPIs), including customer claims, cost of poor quality (COPQ), and internal defect rates.
Represent the UK in global or regional quality steering committees, sharing best practices and aligning on group standards
Oversee the performance and consistency of the ISO 9001 Quality Management System across all three UK production facilities.
Monitor and improve quality metrics, ensuring root cause analysis and effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) are implemented.
Lead internal and external audits (certification bodies, customers, regulatory).
Lead resolution of major customer quality issues, ensuring timely communication, investigation, and sustainable corrective actions.
Provide support at early stages during tenders and contracts, ensuring that Quality requirements from customers align with the manufacturing and testing capabilities within the perimeter.
Champion A3 improvement projects, Lean Six Sigma or equivalent methodologies to reduce variation and eliminate waste.
Monitor and improve right-first-time yield, rework rates, and supplier quality performance.
You are the right fit if you have/are:
Ideally hold a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or related discipline (Master’s preferred).
Extensive proven experience in manufacturing quality roles within leadership.
Strong knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 and quality management systems.
Proven experience managing multi-site quality operations.
Expertise in statistical tools, root cause analysis, CAPA, and continuous improvement methodologies.
Experience with customer-facing quality issues and product certifications.
Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.
Experience in regulated or certified product environments (e.g., automotive, aerospace, medical).
Familiarity with SAP or another ERP and QMS software platforms.
