UK Pensions Team Manager - Sheffield

We’re hiring!

We are looking for experienced pensions professional to join our managerial team.

For this role we are looking for an energetic pensions professional who has the ability to engage a team to fulfil the best of their potential. Managerial experience is preferred but not essential. This role my suit an experienced Senior Administrator or similar, looking to take the next step in their career. We will help you to nurture your existing skills, and help you to find the best of you.

You will have a proven record in colleague engagement. You will know what really makes a team tick, and through empowering colleagues you will drive success in a fast paced environment. We are looking for a leader with strong interpersonal skills, who is passionate about colleague development and positively impacting the careers of our colleagues.

You will be dedicated to providing a client service that we can be proud of. You will go above and beyond to ensure that we deliver a quality service which represents the team you manage.

Your Role at Aon

As a Team Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring that we provide a high quality administration service for internal and external clients by:

  • Owning and driving performance activities in the team including goal setting, and holding colleagues accountable for performance in line with SMART objectives.
  • Driving colleague engagement through regular 1 to 1 meetings, reviewing performance and providing constructive feedback.
  • Further enhancing colleague engagement by empowering colleagues and providing clear career guidance, connecting with colleagues to understand them as people and building an understanding of what drives them to succeed and bring their best work.
  • Managing the recruitment process to ensure expertise and resource levels are maintained and hold a clear succession plan for your team, keeping on top of the talent review process, and identifying and addressing knowledge gaps to minimise risk to the business.
  • Organisation of the team’s workloads to ensure all priorities and deadlines are adhered to.
  • Using data to understand your team’s performance including productivity, quality and training requirements.
  • Identifying areas where processes need to be tightened and management of risk – encouraging a “right first time” approach.
  • Holding a constant open and honest dialogue with all internal stakeholders, building strong relationships with senior leadership and client management teams.
  • Providing oversight and leadership on projects to ensure understanding of resource requirements and project deliverables impacting team capacity.
  • Driving and promoting the implementation of best practice on the team and ensuring consultation with relevant stakeholders in line with agreed change management processes.
  • Promoting healthy recognition practices on the team – recognising strong performance and promoting a positive working environment where colleagues can thrive.
  • Ensuring budgetary requirements are adhered to – including close management of holidays, expenses and overtime.
  • Supporting strategic projects – for both existing and new clients. Comfortable speaking to clients and taking ownership and accountability for providing a strong client service.
