The role involves overseeing payroll for approximately 300 staff while managing a car fleet of around 100 vehicles. UK Payroll Lead & Fleet Manager

Basildon - Hybrid working - onsite 2 days per week, 3 days remote working

£56,000 - £65,000 p.a. plus company bonus (up to 5%) and benefits

A Payroll Lead role with an added twist. This role will challenge you to manage the car fleet (around 100 cars) and solve problems in the short term. You'll have the freedom to make decisions and run with your thoughts to get the desired outputs.

What you'll do

Take ownership of the running of the organisation payroll (part in-house and part-outsourced), for UK based and international secondment employees, c300 staff. Ensure pay is processed on time, accurately, and in compliance with government regulations, as well as manage post-payroll activities.

Run HRIS's linked to payroll and benefits such as travel (Concur), company credit cards (Barclaycard); and the benefits platform (Darwin). Additionally, take ownership of the day-to-day management of the company car fleet (c100 vehicles).

What you'll need
  • Strong operational knowledge of legislation and best practice around Payroll and HR (inc. statutory payments e.g. SMP, SPP and statutory HMRC guidelines, etc); and knowledge of their manual payroll calculations.
  • Ideally, previous car fleet management experience.
  • Experience of payroll and tax for expat and international transfers.
  • Proven record in full cycle of payroll.
  • Payroll systems experience.
