Job description

Job Description

We are seeking a hands-on consultant to help build the DMS practice and direct supporting resources with expertise in client file management and DMS matter-centric solutions for large law firms and corporate legal departments.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Assisting clients with the design and implementation of DMS systems and other technologies, specializing in iManage Matter Centric deployments.
  2. Maintaining a high level of technical expertise, industry knowledge, and professional disposition.
  3. Designing, documenting, implementing, deploying, and managing DMS system implementations.
  4. Evaluating existing DMS implementations and developing recommendations for problem resolution, enhancements, and tuning; presenting these to client management and staff.
  5. Developing, maintaining, and managing project plans, timelines, and schedules.
  6. Refining design and implementation methodologies and defining best practices for the DMS practice group.
  7. Maintaining vendor relationships specific to DMS.
  8. Keeping current with industry trends, certifications, and professional development.
  9. Mentoring team members on projects and best practices.
  10. Representing the firm at trade shows, authoring articles, and white papers.

This position is full-time, remote/telecommute, with extensive travel possible. Candidates must have substantial law firm and consulting experience, with expertise in electronic document management systems, especially WorkSite 8.X, and experience working with Microsoft SQL Server databases.

Required experience includes:

  • 2-3 years in relevant roles, with 5+ years in legal vertical consulting.
  • Experience with large-scale implementations, product rollouts, and integration of desktop applications with DMS.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and understanding of legal word processing workflows.

Preferred qualifications include IRM certification, understanding of law firm business and risk management, excellent communication skills, and speaking/writing experience in DMS issues.

Candidates must demonstrate integrity, a strong work ethic, professionalism, effective communication, organizational skills, and the ability to work well in a team environment. Travel is required.
