Job summary

ERSG Careers seeks a senior HSE leader to develop and lead the UK HSE strategy across projects, sites and regions, translating business objectives into clear priorities, standards and improvement plans.

You will advise the executive team on HSE performance, regulatory compliance and governance, oversee HSE management systems and audits, and drive accountability and a strong safety culture across the organization.

Qualifications

• Significant senior HSE leadership experience in high-risk industries.
• Experience developing and implementing HSE strategy across multiple projects/sites.
• Strong knowledge of UK HSE legislation, risk management, and contractor assurance.
• Experience leading HSE teams and influencing senior stakeholders.
• Experience improving HSE performance through governance and engagement.
• NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent and Chartered IOSH status.

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead the UK HSE strategy with clear priorities and improvement plans.
• Provide strategic advice to senior leadership on HSE performance and governance.
• Oversee HSE management systems, assurance programmes, audits and reporting.
• Lead and develop HSE managers and wider teams, setting expectations.
• Drive safety culture, leadership engagement and contractor management.
• Oversee incident investigations with root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Collaborate with project directors, clients, contractors and external stakeholders.
• Monitor changes in legislation and emerging risks to keep the business compliant.
• Use data and assurance findings to identify trends and drive continuous improvement.
