Overview

My client is a market leader in their innovative sector of renewable technology. We are appointing an experienced and proven revenue leader to lead the business development of the UK and potentially European markets. This is an exceptional opportunity to further shape the commercial Go-to-Market strategy of a leading-edge tech business with a significant market opportunity across the world. The successful candidate will play a fundamental role in defining and achieving the company’s customer acquisition and revenue growth targets. Leading, inspiring and growing sales teams whilst scaling revenues through direct sales as well as through partner channels. Leading the entire sales cycle and establish deep and lasting relationships with new and existing customers. With an excellent track record in sales and sales leadership, preferably but not necessarily within the HVAC sector, you will be comfortable defining, presenting and clearly articulating customer specific value propositions.


Responsibilities
  • Establishing a visible presence and leadership position at key events and trade.
  • Leading from the front on sales delivery, setting ambitious yet achievable personal and team targets.
  • Experienced in multi-level selling, in large target accounts, you will be at ease presenting the company’s unique proposition to C-Suite or engaging directly with the customers operational teams.
  • You will define and implement a range of leading indicators that will help you to drive sales effectiveness across all customer segments.
  • To ensure success, you will naturally engage the team in this process and create a supportive, performance culture.
  • Enabling the team to exceed individual and collective sales targets you will effectively coach, mentor, and grow the sales team to effectively develop their territories and pro-actively seek out new opportunities for the future.
  • Working with the team to define individual sales plans, you will own the overall plan and lead from the front in using this as a live tool to support sales performance.
  • In conjunction with the CFO, you will define and implement a full range of leading indicators that will drive sales effectiveness across all customer segments.
  • Inspiring an experienced sales team to deliver beyond expectation.
  • Working with your senior peers, ensuring sales team activities to align with business goals and targets across all functions.
  • Working closely with the Sales Coordinator to promote disciplined use of CRM and related administration.
  • Providing direction and support to team members for the development of account plans and contracts for larger accounts.
  • Identifying important strategic alliances, building relationships and networking.
  • Understanding, defining and shaping the sales process and interpreting market area trends, emerging opportunities and competitor activity.
  • Succinct reporting on results, opportunities and critical pipeline metrics including developing and articulating insights beyond the raw data.
  • Providing quality update reports to Executive team and Board.
  • Contributing value to overall company KPIs, business plan and strategy.
  • Bring an existing network and be skilled at identifying and creating new contacts, building a strong loyal relationship with multi-level decision makers.
  • Network with key stakeholders and decision makers.
  • Aware of all competitive activities within major accounts.
  • Alignment to strategic pricing policy and playing a key role in its review and ongoing development.
  • Handle pricing information with the sales team and negotiate with high level decision makers on selling value-based pricing.

  • A well-rounded knowledge and understanding of business principles especially in emerging markets.

  • Competent use of IT, Microsoft 365, CRM, and similar programs.
