Role Overview


This role operates within the Panasonic Europe Tax team, which provides a range of tax shared services to Panasonic businesses in the European region.

The role holder will coordinate the provision of UK tax shared services to UK businesses of the Panasonic Group, including annual corporation tax compliance, VAT, and supporting the UK tax aspects of business, organizational, and systems change. This involves active business partnering with relevant UK management, finance, and commercial teams.

The role holder will develop and communicate group policies related to the UK tax group for all UK businesses in the Panasonic group, coordinate mandatory UK tax interactions between UK tax group members where UK tax laws operate on a group-wide basis, and support central UK tax group requirements (including but not limited to Senior Accounting Officer compliance, publication of the annual UK tax policy, etc.).

Additionally, the role provides capacity for the broader European Tax Team, supporting specific requests as needed. This includes publishing updates of tax laws on the intranet and supporting European VAT compliance.

How you will become part of the bigger picture..

Enable all UK businesses in the Panasonic group to remain tax compliant through the submission of group compliance activities such as:
  • Supporting the annual Senior Accounting Officer process from notification to reporting, including preparing supporting documents for all UK companies relating to SAO obligations.
  • Preparing UK Group tax returns by liaising proactively with UK businesses to gather necessary information and prepare returns for review.
  • Updating the published UK Group Tax Policy annually.
  • Communicating changes in UK tax law and HMRC practices to tax and business stakeholders.
  • UK Tax compliance and provisioning
    Key activities:
  • Preparing annual corporation tax returns and computations, ensuring timely submission to HMRC (using Alphatax software).
  • Preparing year-end tax accounting workings and annual tax WING sheets, supporting year-end tax reviews.

    Experience, Knowledge, and skills:
  • Over 3 years of practical UK tax experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs), PowerPoint, and Word.
  • SAP knowledge (S4Hana and R3).
  • Ability to operate under time pressure while following due process.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent administrative skills.
  • Fluent business English.
  • Knowledge of Alphatax is advantageous.

    Salary range: Dependent on experience
    Annual Bonus: 5% based on company and individual objectives
