Role: UK Financial Business Partner - AIB, UK Finance

Location: Hybrid approach to working, which will include a blend of onsite in London or Belfast (London Preferred) and remote working

AIB UK Finance are looking for an experienced qualified accountant with Financial Services experience, to join our Financial Business Partner team supporting the UK Corporate business. The Financial business partner team is a future-focussed team supporting the businesses of AIB GB in Britain and AIB NI in Northern Ireland. This role focuses primarily on supporting the AIB Corporate business in delivering against their strategic and financial objectives by acting as a trusted advisor and assisting the business in decision making.

AIB UK Finance is one of the key support and control functions for AIB UK and is key to AIB UK's success in delivering its strategic and financial objectives. We are a group of 25+ professionals operating from offices in Belfast and London, with responsibility for Business Partnering & Decision Support and Regulatory Reporting and Asset & Liability Management (ALM).

We have a hybrid working model that enables our people to balance their time between working from home and the office. Supporting our teams in this way is important to our success.

The role offers the right candidate the opportunity to develop a deep knowledge of AIB UK's Corporate business as well as exposure to wider AIB UK business and Group Finance support.

We are looking for someone who will:
  • Review monthly financial results for the AIB UK Corporate business, identifying variances to financial and business plan and using this to inform projections and forecasts
  • Prepare and report financial results at monthly AIB UK Corporate Leadership Team.
  • Engage with business teams to inform new business and redemptions projections
  • Coordinate the collation and submission of the three year financial plan for AIB UK Corporate business, as well as supporting wider AIB UK Financial Plan. This includes engagement with Corporate Sector teams to review and update the financial plan and document underlying assumptions.
  • Support the operation of the Loan Pricing Model for Corporate & Business Lending including supporting the UK Loan Pricing Committee.
  • Analysis and reporting of RAROC (Risk Adjusted Return on Capital) on all new lending engaging with business and capital management unit to ensure this is above plan thresholds
  • Support ad hoc Business and Regulatory requests for the AIB UK Corporate and wider UK business, as required
  • Support Transformation and Strategic projects for the AIB UK Corporate and wider UK business, as required.
What you will bring:
  • Accounting qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent) with 5+ years' experience in a relevant role including experience in the Financial Services sector.
  • Experience of preparing financial insights/analysis to support decision making.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills including demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • An ability to work both independently and collaboratively to problem solve and implement changes.
  • An ability to manage competing priorities and to deliver against tight deadlines.
