Job summary

Leica Geosystems, part of Hexagon, is seeking a commercially minded UK Finance Controller to lead the UK finance function and partner with the UK management team, including Sales, Marketing and Operations.

This is not a purely accounting role; it emphasizes business partnering, commercial insight and helping leaders make better decisions. You will shape how Finance supports the UK business and drive performance across the function.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
• 5–7 years in Commercial Finance, FP&A, Controlling or Finance Management.
• Experience with cross-functional stakeholders and multinational environments.
• People management experience and ability to coach others.
• Familiarity with ERP and SAP and strong financial controls.

Responsibilities

• Act as trusted Finance Business Partner to the UK leadership team, providing insight and recommendations.
• Translate financial data into clear commercial actions and impact for leaders.
• Challenge revenue, margin, cost and investment assumptions and identify risks and opportunities.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, performance analysis and management reporting across the UK.
• Oversee month-end, financial controls, statutory requirements and governance with the local team.
• Lead and develop the local Finance team.
• Work cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, Operations and the wider organisation.
• Drive improvements in reporting, processes and ways of working as Finance evolves.

• Work cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, Operations and other teams across the UK and our international organisation.
• Drive improvements in reporting, processes and ways of working as the UK Finance organisation continues to evolve.

This is you

• You are aqualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)with strong commercial instincts and the confidence to work closely with senior business leaders.

You will ideally bring:

• Around 5–7 years of relevant Finance experience, ideally within Commercial Finance, FinanceBusiness Partnering, Controlling or Finance Management.
• A strong commercial mindset – you look beyond the numbers and want to understand what drives the business.
• Experience working cross-functionally with senior non-finance stakeholders.
• Previous people management experience and the ability to coach and develop others.
• Experience within a multinational or complex organisation.
• Solid understanding of budgeting, forecasting, P&L, balance sheet and financial controls.
• Familiarity with ERP and enterprise finance systems such as SAP.
• The confidence to challenge constructively while remaining pragmatic and collaborative.
• A proactive, hands-on approach and the ability to create structure where it does not yet exist.
• Willingness to work on ahybrid basis, with regular presence in St Neots and occasional travel to Milton Keynes.
