Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, your duties will include:

Main duties and responsibilities:

• Prepare monthly accounts in line with group timetables and accounting policies.


• Investigate and report monthly variances against budgets and forecasts.


• Work closely with business partners to review budget vs actuals, identify variances, and drive meaningful improvements.


• Review payroll processing by third-party providers.


• Complete monthly journals and departmental reports.


• Prepare/review VAT and Intrastat returns.


• Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and resolve issues promptly.


• Handle expense processing and support implementation of new systems.


• Perform PAYE payments and reconciliations.


• Assist in budget and forecast preparation and review.


• Support cashflow preparation and monitoring.


• Prepare year-end schedules for external audit teams.


• Provide cover for subsidiaries, joint ventures, and other entities as needed.


• Engage with external stakeholders including banks, ERP providers, and auditors.


• Support the weekly payroll process.


• Initiate and support projects that improve financial processes, systems, and reporting quality.


• Support the monitoring and submission of grant claims.


• Contribute to the development of financial systems and processes.


• Proactively participate in the individual performance management process, achieving SMART targets and continuous personal developments.


• Fully participate in the development and achievement of the Departmental Vision


• To undertake any other duty commensurate with the role

You will be a fully qualified accountant with demonstrable experience in a similar role. Self drive, effective communication skills and the ability to interpret complex financial data whilst showing high attention to detail and levels of accuracy are all attributes required.
