UK & EU Logistics Manager

If you are looking to join a thriving global business, we have a great opportunity for a UK & EU Logistics Manager to join our Supply Chain Team. As the successful candidate, you will be responsible for ensuring the company is compliant with all necessary transport and welfare regulations, ensuring the safe delivery of day old chicks across the UK and EU.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with colleagues across the business and 3rd party logistics providers to plan the most appropriate transport methods.
  • Ensure full compliance with all necessary regulations including driver, transport, animal welfare and health & safety.
  • Plan and manage the transport budget.
  • Ensure bio-security and bird welfare are championed and upheld.
  • Manage costs across the transport operation to ensure the most cost-effective delivery of day old chicks.
  • Support the quality team in investigating complaints.
  • Ensure strict adherence to biosecurity protocols and procedures.
  • Assist in the arrangement of procurement and lease agreements for new vehicles.

Candidates should have:

  • Excellent communication, problem solving and organisational skills.
  • The ability to manage, lead and empower teams.
  • A strong drive to focus and deliver to our customers.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years management experience in a similar role.
  • CPC qualified and member of Animal Transport Association.
  • Good knowledge of animal welfare regulations.
  • Good working knowledge of customs procedures and animal health regulations for export from GB to EU and NI, with a proven track record.
  • Valid class 1 HGV license is desirable but not essential.
