Job description

The IT Support Technician is responsible for the day to day management and quality of incidents and activities that are required to be completed by the On-Site Support team.

Operating within the Rentokil Initial Service management framework, the On-Site Support team is responsible for the day to day management of the user devices estate, working closely with Service Delivery to ensure services are delivered within the agreed SLA’s.

Act as a resource to assist in the implementation and delivery of projects.

Main Tasks:
  1. Undertakes routine installations and de-installations of items of hardware and/or software. Takes action to ensure targets are met within established safety and quality procedures, including, where appropriate, handover to the client.
  2. Uses system management software and tools to collect agreed performance statistics. Carries out agreed system software maintenance tasks.
  3. Provides technical expertise to enable the correct application of operational procedures.
  4. Contributes to the planning and implementation of maintenance and installation work.
  5. Ensures that incidents and requests are handled according to agreed procedures. Ensures that documentation of the supported components is available and in an appropriate form for those providing support. Creates and maintains support documentation.

Requirements:

  1. Diagnosing and resolving complex IT related support requests (hardware, software and applications).
  2. Proven analytical approach to problem-solving.
  3. Having a good understanding of at least one hardware platform (e.g., Dell, HP).
  4. Having a good knowledge of two or more system software products which are used by the organisation (e.g., Chrome OS, Windows 10, Google Apps).
