Job summary

AgrisSearch is recruiting a Farm Liaison Officer to join the UK Dairy Carbon Network team in Northern Ireland. The role involves on-farm engagement with dairy farmers across 20 partner farms, collecting data, and supporting knowledge exchange events to reduce carbon emissions and improve farm productivity.

Based in Hillsborough with travel across Northern Ireland, the post is a full-time 18-month contract with immediate start. Salary around £38,000 and 37.5 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Education in agriculture or related discipline, or currently pursuing a placement.
• At least one year’s experience in the dairy sector.
• Full, valid driving licence and access to suitable transport.

Responsibilities

• On-farm engagement with dairy farmers across the network of farms.
• Liaise with project partners and contribute to knowledge exchange activities.
• Support farmer events and knowledge exchangei activities.
• Data collection activities on farm and in the field.

The successful candidate will work closely with dairy farmers across our network of 20 farms, supporting practical measures to reduce carbon emissions and improve farm efficiency and productivity. Responsibilities include on-farm engagement, data collection, liaising with project partners and supporting farmer events and knowledge exchange activities.

Location: Hillsborough, with travel throughout Northern Ireland
Salary: £38,000
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Contract: 18 months, with the possibility of extension subject to performance and business need
Start date: Immediate start available

Applicants should have a tertiary qualification in agriculture or a related discipline, or be currently undertaking a relevant qualification as a placement student. At least one year’s recent relevant experience in the dairy sector is essential, alongside good communication and organisational skills, a full valid driving licence and access to suitable transport.
