This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly motivated bond origination DCM team in an established global top 10 investment bank. You will gain a good understanding of Global Capital Markets Investment Banking as you help advise companies on raising money in the Debt Capital Markets. The role will be based in London.

What will you do?

  • Gain a strong foundation in Investment banking in a business area that encompasses both global markets and corporate finance strategy
  • Work with senior originators, in the origination and execution efforts of the Corporate DCM team, with a focus on UK clients
  • Gain a good understanding of the Fixed Income Sales and Trading platform (bonds, derivatives, interest rate derivatives and credit sales and trading)
  • Provide analytical resources and expertise to support origination and execution efforts including:
    • Preparing bespoke pitching materials/ideas and client coverage support
    • Providing regular multi-currency pricing updates for clients
    • Preparing pertinent macroeconomic slides
    • Supporting the execution of bond mandates in various forms and currencies
    • Supporting the preparation and coordination of roadshows
    • Assisting in developing and building new client relationships
    • Maintaining and updating certain databases required in Corporate DCM
    • Compiling weekly market updates and commentary (covering topics such as fixed income markets, rates and recent transactions) for internal and external clients

Build and maintain relationships with key internal counterparts in Investment Banking, Corporate Banking and Global Markets, as well as colleagues in other business areas in London, Paris, Frankfurt, New York, Toronto and Sydney where the bank has DCM origination offices.

What do you need to succeed?

Must have

  • Direct work experience or experience in Debt Capital Markets and/or financial markets are preferred
  • Agile intellect, strong numerical and analytical skills
  • A strong work ethic, excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • An awareness of global economic issues and a genuine interest in the global markets environment
  • Creativity, logic, interpersonal skills, inner drive, and a strong approach to teamwork are also important characteristics for this role
  • Fluency in English is required for this role
