Overview

At eBay, we’re changing how the world shops and sells. Our UK business is looking for an experienced consumer insights professional with a strong consultation background to generate insights and drive actions that directly impact eBay’s UK market growth. This position conducts ad-hoc research and distills insights from existing research across markets. Reports to the Global Consumer Insights Senior Manager, Global Markets.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and execute the UK learning and research plan, acting as a consultant, consumer expert, and thought leader to the UK business. Ensure plans are deeply rooted in consumer centricity, provide clarity, connect the customer voice to actions, and inspire outcomes.
  • Translate insights into action and solutions for business problems and critical issues; drive action and impact from insights with senior management; act as a thought partner to the UK leadership team.
  • Author executive-level reports and provide informed recommendations to senior business partners that lead to action.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with cross-functional partners to understand challenges, define the research roadmap, and drive actions through insight delivery.
  • Gather diverse ideas across the organization and align on a mutually agreed direction.
  • Provide monthly reporting on consumer metrics.
Qualifications
  • Approximately 6-8 years of related work experience in research and insights with a focus on consumer and/or retail.
  • Experience leading insights projects in the UK and strong understanding of UK consumers.
  • Strong research and insights technical skills: designing, planning, and managing primary and secondary, qualitative and quantitative research using advanced methodologies (e.g., semiotics, conjoint) and the latest techniques (agile, AI).
  • Proven ability to distill actionable insights from complex data and present findings clearly; capable of guiding strategic direction with consumer-centric insights.
  • Ability to work on complex business issues and projects tied to critical business needs; strong business acumen and understanding of company strategy and priorities in managing insights work.
  • Ability to manage multiple longer-term projects and support multiple internal partners with effective prioritization of efforts and resources.
  • Willingness to respectfully challenge or defend decisions, proactively raise issues, and bring relevant insights to guide decision-making.
