Job summary

The Clay Partnership Ltd is seeking an accomplished Area Sales Manager to cover the North of the UK, with flexibility to be based anywhere in the UK. You will balance account development with new business, building trusted relationships with local authorities and private-sector partners to shape solutions spanning software, hardware upgrades and service contracts.

Success comes from retaining and growing existing customers, identifying opportunities, and navigating public-sector procurement

Qualifications

Minimum of 3-5 years' successful and relevant sales or account management experience.
Technical sales experience involving software, hardware, waste management or route-optimisation.
Public-sector sales experience and understanding of local government procurement is advantageous.

Responsibilities

Develop and execute territory plans delivering sustainable sales growth.
Retain and grow existing accounts while building new-business pipeline.
Identify customer challenges and develop tailored solutions.
Navigate local authority procurement processes and engage key decision-makers.
Build relationships with council officials, contractors and industry stakeholders.
Maintain CRM records, pipeline forecasts and sales reporting.
Represent the company at conferences, exhibitions and customer meetings.
Collaborate across teams to share market insight and strengthen propositions.
