Job description

This is an exciting opportunity to join a progressive, multidisciplinary team committed to developing an outstanding clinical workforce to support our patients.

We are seeking qualified, experienced, enthusiastic, and highly motivated GPs to join our established team at the Urgent Treatment Centre.

The Urgent Treatment Centre provides urgent medical treatment for acute illnesses and offers successful candidates the chance to work closely with colleagues in Emergency Medicine to enhance their clinical skills. The GP role is central to service provision and supports the multidisciplinary team in delivering prompt, safe, and timely interventions.

The Centre operates from 08:00 to 00:00, seven days a week, including weekends and bank holidays, with various shifts available. We are specifically looking for cover from 09:00 to 14:00 on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, and from 18:00 to 00:00 on Sundays.

The post holder will provide professional leadership, clinical expertise, and manage same-day patient presentations at ESNEFT’s Urgent and Emergency Care Centre in Ipswich. Working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, you will collaborate with primary and secondary care colleagues and other agencies to ensure a seamless patient journey across the entire pathway.

You will also serve as a role model, promoting clinical effectiveness and delivering outstanding clinical practice.

ESNEFT provides hospital and community health services to nearly one million people across east Suffolk and north Essex, including acute hospitals in Colchester and Ipswich, community hospitals, clinics, and in patients’ homes. As one of the largest NHS organizations in England, employing over 12,000 staff, we are committed to supporting our staff through training, development, flexible working, a generous pension scheme, unsocial hours payments (where applicable), 27 days of annual leave (pro-rata), and NHS discounts. Our Staff Health and Wellbeing programme offers various services.

Our philosophy, "Time Matters to everyone," drives us to improve processes and reduce delays for staff and patients. We are investing in a partnership with Epic, a leading electronic patient record system, to transform hospital life for staff and patients.

If you are passionate about patient care and eager to develop your skills and knowledge, we want to hear from you.
