Job summary

AssetCool is seeking a UAV Flight Test & Validation Engineer in the UK to own end-to-end testing of in-house UAV systems. You will define test strategies, lead indoor and outdoor flight campaigns, and base decisions on traceable evidence across propulsion, navigation, and payload subsystems.

You will work at the intersection of propulsion, flight control, autonomy and regulatory compliance, with field-based duties and travel to test sites.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent practical experience in aerospace, avionics, control, robotics, or related field.
• Hands-on experience testing, operating and troubleshooting multirotor or UAS in real flight environments.
• Strong knowledge of PX4 and ArduPilot workflows, calibration, and logging; familiarity with QGroundControl/Mission Planner.

Responsibilities

• Plan indoor and outdoor ground and flight tests for in-house UAV platforms.
• Define test strategies, traceability, and acceptance criteria; lead readiness reviews.
• Configure airframes, sensors, flight modes, geofencing, and ground-control software.
• Analyze logs to identify root causes and verify corrective actions.
• Ensure safety, compliance, and test documentation throughout the lifecycle.
