Want to build, integrate and maintain a growing fleet of advanced uncrewed aircraft, and shape how it’s run safely from the ground up?
We’re partnering with Anduril to hire a hands‑on UAS Technician for its flight test site at Llanbedr, North Wales. The fleet of Group 3 fixed‑wing VTOL and forward‑flight aircraft is scaling fast, and this role sits at the heart of keeping it flight‑ready.
What you’ll do
- Lead the physical build and integration of UAS platforms: flight controllers, GPS, telemetry, cameras and payloads
- Be the go‑to expert on Pixhawk / Cube Orange: configuration, calibration, firmware management and parameter tuning
- Carry out pre‑flight, in‑flight and post‑flight diagnostics, field maintenance, hardware mods and fault rectification
- Help build safe systems of work, tool control and a strong flight safety culture alongside the continuing airworthiness manager
- Maintain technical records, maintenance logs and configuration control to audit standard
- Work daily with engineering, flight test and project teams to feed back on performance and bring in new technology
What we’re looking for
- Systems‑level, hands‑on experience integrating, configuring and fault‑finding Pixhawk / Cube Orange flight controllers (ArduPilot or PX4)
- Experience with Mission Planner or QGroundControl, GPS/telemetry and payload integration
- A background in aviation maintenance, electronics, robotics or mechatronics
- Strong practical skills: soldering, battery management and complex component integration
- A genuine passion for UAS: home builds, the IMechE UAS Challenge or a university UAV society all count
- A safety‑first mindset, calm troubleshooting under pressure and clear communication
- Comfortable with flexible hours and travel to support field operations
- Able to obtain UK SC clearance (typically requires around 5 years’ UK residency)
Nice to have
- Knowledge of UK civil or military UAS regulations
- CAA GVC or A2 CofC
Why apply?
- Own the integration and upkeep of a fleet of serious, large-scale UAS
- Real influence over how maintenance and safety processes are built
- A path to UAS flight qualifications as the role develops
- Work alongside flight test and engineering specialists in a fast‑moving defence technology environment
