Job description

Chichester, United Kingdom | Posted on 10/06/2026

sees.ai | Chichester, UK | Field & Office

Do you want to apply your operational field experience to advanced technology at national scale?

At sees.ai, we deploy autonomous UAS to inspect critical national infrastructure across the UK. This is an experienced operations role for people who have used UAS, technical field equipment, or similar systems to get a job done — commercially, in research, or in an operational setting — and who want to bring that experience to bear in a more demanding, higher-stakes environment.

We are looking for individuals who have experience operating complex systems in real-world field environments. Experience designing, building, or developing such systems is also highly valued, but our primary focus is on candidates who can confidently deploy and operate them in practice.

The Role

This is an operations-focused role. You'll be planning and delivering real UAS missions in live environments — where weather changes, access is constrained, and the quality of your preparation and judgement directly affects outcomes.

Our UAS operate through software-based control systems and real-time dashboards. Success depends on your ability to think clearly, plan effectively, and make good decisions when conditions change — not on your ability to build or engineer the systems.

You'll split your time between field deployments across the UK and planning, analysis, and preparation at our Chichester base. This is a role for people who are genuinely energised by being out on operations — not just comfortable with it.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Operating UAS missions via software-based control systems and real-time dashboards
  • Planning and coordinating deployments, balancing weather, logistics, and operational constraints
  • Managing site logistics including travel, access, accommodation, and contingencies
  • Monitoring missions in real time and intervening when required
  • Capturing, reviewing, and validating inspection data in the field
  • Analysing system outputs, logs, and mission performance
  • Acting as the link between field operations and engineering — providing structured, useful feedback
  • Maintaining high safety and operational standards across all environments
  • Contributing to how we improve mission planning and execution as we scale
Who This Role Is Suited To

This role suits people who combine proven operational experience with a disciplined, detail-oriented approach to field work.

You'll likely have:

  • A background in a field that involves working with technical systems, equipment, or data in real-world environments — UAS operations, field survey, inspection, ROV operations, or similar
  • A track record of using technical field equipment, UAS, or similar tools purposefully in an operational or professional context — not just recreationally
  • A genuine appetite for field work: you're as comfortable on a wind-swept site as you are in front of a screen
  • An innate curiosity about technology

What matters most is how you work:

  • You think systematically and plan ahead, rather than reacting on the fly
  • You exercise good judgement when conditions are uncertain
  • You take a structured, detail-oriented approach to execution
  • You're comfortable owning outcomes, not just completing tasks
  • You're calm and focused when operating through systems, data, and real-world constraints

Formal UAS qualifications are useful but not what we're hiring on. A track record of operating technical equipment purposefully in the field — and the judgement that comes with it — matters far more.

  • Based in the UK, with unrestricted right to work
  • Full UK manual driving licence
  • Willingness to travel frequently across the UK
  • Demonstrable experience operating UAS, field survey equipment, or similar technical systems in a professional, research, or operational context
  • Strong technology literacy, developed through relevant work or field experience
  • Confidence working independently in field-based environments
  • Clear, structured communication skills

Formal UAS flight certifications are helpful, but are not required at application stage.

Why Join sees.ai
  • Work on live, real-world operations — not simulations
  • Be part of a team deploying advanced UAS at scale across nationally significant infrastructure
  • Apply your operational experience in a more demanding, higher-stakes environment
  • Develop both your operational and technical capability
  • Competitive salary based on experience
  • Beautiful office location with onsite café, gym, pool, tennis courts, nursery, and parking
