Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service invites applications for the post of Deputy Chief Fire and Rescue Officer. The role supports the NIFRS Board and the Chief Fire & Rescue Officer to deliver a safe and effective Fire and Rescue Service.

The successful candidate will be based at NIFRS HQ, 1 Seymour Street, Lisburn, travel around all NIFRS locations, and the closing date is 12 noon on Friday 25th September 2026.

Deputy Chief Fire & Rescue Officer - Job Ref: U055/09/2026

The role of DCFRO will be critical in supporting the NIFRS Board and the Chief Fire & Rescue Officer (CFRO) to deliver a safe and effective Fire and Rescue Service.

There is currently 1 permanent post, based at NIFRS HQ, 1 Seymour Street, Lisburn, BT27 4SX. Applicants should note that the duties, responsibilities and base locations of these posts may be subject to change. Please note the successful applicant will be required to travel around all NIFRS locations. This recruitment and selection process will also be used to fill future vacancies, a reserve list will be created for 12 months should any additional fixed term or permanent vacancies arise (offers of posts will be made in merit order).
