Job Title: Tyre Technician (Wheel Operative)

Location: Thurleigh

Shift Pattern: 50 hours per week (5 x 10-hour shifts, Monday-Friday, 7:00am-7:00pm - flexibility required)

Pay Rate: £13.69 per hour

Start Date: ASAP - Immediate interviews available

About the Role

We are currently recruiting for a Tyre Technician (Wheel Operative) to join a busy automotive team in Bedford. This is a hands-on, physical role involving the removal, marking, tracking, and refitting of vehicle wheels to manufacturer specifications.

Full training will be provided, making this a great opportunity for someone with tyre fitting or wheel operative experience looking to develop further.

Responsibilities
  • Remove damaged wheels from vehicles.
  • Mark wheels with vehicle registration and record details on spreadsheets.
  • Refit refurbished wheels to vehicles.
  • Torque wheels accurately to manufacturer specifications.
  • Work as part of a dedicated wheels remove/refit team.
Skills & Experience
  • Previous experience as a Tyre Technician / Wheel Operative (preferred).
  • Full UK driving licence (essential).
  • Proficient in the use of jacks and axle stands.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Physically fit and able to perform manual handling tasks (lifting, bending, etc.).
  • Willingness to learn - training provided.
