Tyler Union, a division of McWane, Inc., is the nation’s leading manufacturer of Ductile Iron Waterworks Fittings and Appurtenances. It has an immediate opening for a Foundry Production Supervisor at its Oxford facility. Tyler Union's main manufacturing facility is located in Anniston, AL.

The Production Supervisor will directly supervise, coordinate, and plan production for operations at molding lines, core machines, finishing operations, or melt operations in a ductile iron foundry producing pipe fittings for the waterworks industry. They will integrate safety, environmental, quality, and human resources support into all production operations. The role promotes The McWane Way principles, values, and behaviors and embodies the Compass Culture.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include:

  • Follow all processes and procedures associated with the Tyler Union Safety Management Program. Always adhere to safety rules and work safely.
  • Promote The McWane Way principles, values, and behaviors and live the Compass Culture.
  • Oversee daily functions supporting operations and direct activities of team members in production.
  • Facilitate daily startup meetings promoting safety and unity.
  • Plan and establish work schedules, assignments, and production sequences to meet goals.
  • Ensure effective quality processes are in place.
  • Collaborate with other supervisors to ensure seamless communication and transition of products and activities. Inspect materials, products, or equipment for defects or malfunctions.
  • Conduct training for team members on equipment operations, work procedures, and safety.
  • Analyze charts, work orders, production schedules, and records to determine requirements and evaluate outputs.
  • Maintain operations data and prepare management reports.
  • Work with management or HR to resolve worker issues, complaints, or grievances.
  • Recommend or implement measures to motivate staff and improve methods, equipment performance, product quality, and efficiency.
  • Monitor electronic time and attendance for team members.
  • Observe team behavior, document actions, and recommend discipline when necessary.
  • Issue disciplinary actions within established timeframes.
  • Work in assigned shifts as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university.
  • Minimum of three years of manufacturing experience, on-the-job training, or vocational training.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience acceptable.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Support team members' professional needs, coaching and empowering staff.
  • Address issues proactively and resolve complaints or concerns promptly.
  • Motivate team to achieve work goals.
  • Maintain and approve team members' time records.
  • Interpret safety, operating, and maintenance instructions and manuals.
  • Solve practical problems with limited standardization, interpreting various instructions.
  • Use basic math skills for calculations and data interpretation.

Physical Demands

Activities require significant use of arms and legs, including climbing, lifting up to 50 pounds, balancing, walking, standing, and handling tools and materials. PPE such as safety shoes, glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and hard hats are required.

Work Environment

The environment varies from office settings to plant conditions that may be hot, cold, dusty, and noisy. Regular plant presence is required, with appropriate PPE provided. Reasonable accommodations are available for individuals with disabilities.
