Overview

Weekend Twilight Veterinary Care Assistant – Basildon Pitsea Hospital

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and passionate Veterinary Care Assistant to join our Veterinary Hospital in Basildon Pitsea.

Our 24-hour hospital is state of the art and purpose built and has recently been expanded to include facilities for MRI, hydrotherapy, orthopaedics & exotic patients in addition to our existing CT scanner, theatres and hospital wards. Our primary focus is to offer excellent clinical care to our patients and a high level support and development for our team. Our clinical team currently consists of 14 vets, 25 nurses and 7 VCAs and is always growing.

You will assist the day and night team colleagues with clinical and non-clinical support to ensure the smooth running of the hospital and to provide the best standard of patient care.

Responsibilities
  • Maintaining high standards of cleanliness in all clinical areas
  • Answering calls, greeting clients and taking payments
  • Preparing, packaging and sterilising instruments and equipment
  • Walking, feeding and assisting with care of inpatients & surgical patients
  • Assisting with consultations and dispensary processes
  • Processing lab samples for external analysis and running in house tests
Commitment and Schedule

We are looking for a part time colleague working an average of 24.5 hours a week. This consists of 1 weekday shift of 4pm-12am and weekends - Saturday & Sunday 3pm - 12am.
