Medivet Dorchester 24 Hour is seeking two Twilight Veterinary Care Assistants to join the night team. The role supports nurses and vets, delivering high-quality care to clients and pets. The initial 12-month contract may extend into a permanent position.
The position is part-time (up to 26 hours/week) with shifts on a rolling pattern, including weekends, designed to help maintain 24/7 services for surrounding practices.
As a Twilight Veterinary Care Assistant (VCA) you will support the nurse and vets with telephone triage and in-patients to deliver exceptional care to our clients, patients, and colleagues.
We have an exciting opportunity for two Twilight Veterinary Care Assistants to join our friendly and experienced night team at Medivet Dorchester 24 Hour, a refurbished hospital located just a short drive from the breath-taking Jurassic Coast. The initial contract will be for 12 months with the option to extend into a permanent role within the business.
This is a part-time role, covering up to 26 hours per week across a rolling shift pattern (proposed 4 on, 4 off with weekend work included) essential to maintaining the hospital’s commitment to covering OOH services for the surrounding practices. This role is ideal for someone looking to make the most of a unique evening role in a busy, well-equipped hospital, working alongside an outstanding clinical team.
Dorchester 24 Hour is a multi-disciplinary hospital with a strong regional presence, providing out-of-hours cover for five Medivet branches and seven non-Medivet practices. You’ll be part of a supportive night team that includes certificate holders in diagnostic imaging, internal medicine, dermatology and Emergency Critical Care.

We’re an RCVS-accredited training practice, so you’ll have the opportunity to learn from a dedicated nurse and vet team to provide excellent care for our clients and their pets.
