Join Our Team of Expert Tutors - QTS Required | Flexible, Rewarding, Impactful
Are you a qualified teacher looking for a flexible, meaningful role outside the classroom? We're seeking passionate QTS tutors to support learners across Islington.
We work closely with local authorities, schools, and virtual schools to deliver high-quality education to students who may be out of mainstream school, need catch-up support, or require a more personalised learning approach. Most sessions take place during school hours (9am-3pm), Monday to Friday.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging, personalised tuition in core subjects
- Adapt lessons to meet each learner's needs, pace, and ability
- Track and report progress, attendance, and engagement using our platform
- Communicate with parents/carers, schools, and our team to ensure consistent support
- Ensure safeguarding and student well-being are central to every session
- Offer tuition online or face-to-face, based on student needs and your availability
Qualifications:
Many of our learners have Special Educational Needs (SEN) or Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges. We welcome tutors who:
- Have experience working with SEN/SEMH learners
- Use patience, empathy, and flexibility to build trust and engagement
- Can adapt teaching strategies to suit a wide range of needs
- Are confident in managing behaviour in 1:1 or small group settings
Minimum Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Strong subject knowledge and curriculum experience
- Confident working with school-aged learners (KS1-KS5)
- Understanding of differentiated teaching and inclusive practice
- Strong communication and organisation skills
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service
Competitive hourly rate: £25-£30 PAYE, paid weekly
