Here at TPTUTORS, we are looking to build our tutor talent pool to support our clients with all types of student referrals.

Job Description:

We are currently seeking experienced tutors to join our team. The ideal candidates will have extensive experience in Special Educational Needs (SEN) and be willing to work around 10-15 hours per week on a part-time basis. We also have roles that vary in hours, starting from 1 hour per week. Each referral requires patience and a focus on delivering tuition in core subjects; we occasionally receive referrals for other subjects such as business studies or languages. We provide both in-person (at students' homes or public areas like libraries or community centers) and online tuition to Local Authorities and Schools.

Job Duties:
  1. Provide tailored educational support to students with SEN in requested subjects, creating your own materials and lesson plans to demonstrate your ability to facilitate educational progress.
  2. Submit session reports after each session via our virtual reporting platform, which are monitored by both the consultant and the client. These reports are used in annual and EHCP meetings and are essential for documenting progress and processing your pay.
  3. Assess students' progress and adapt teaching methods accordingly, demonstrating flexibility and patience. Use assessments available on our platform to measure progress at the start and end of tuition.
  4. Communicate effectively with students, parents, and relevant consultants, informing them of any challenges to ensure support and safeguarding for all involved.
Education, Experience, Knowledge, and Skills:
  • A degree in Education, Special Education, or a related field
  • At least 2 years of tutoring or teaching experience
  • Strong knowledge of the UK education system
  • Ability to adapt teaching strategies to individual student needs
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Working Conditions:
  • Part-time hours, starting from 1 hour per week
  • Temporary roles lasting until a student gains a school placement, with some roles lasting over multiple academic years
  • Flexible scheduling based on your and the student's availability; most sessions are arranged between you and the parent/carer
Requirements if Selected:
  • A Microsoft Teams interview to discuss your experience and the process
  • DBS check via the update service (application link provided if needed; cost is your responsibility)
  • Career history covering 10 years
  • References covering 5 years
  • Proof of right to work
  • Proof of address
  • Safeguarding training certificate (training provided)
  • Proof of name change (if applicable)
  • Overseas criminal clearance (if required)
  • Professional photograph for your profile
