Job description

Prospero Teaching are currently seeking dedicated and compassionate Tutors to join our growing network across The New Forest. With a number of tuition opportunities emerging in the area, we are looking for individuals who are passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people.

You will be providing 1:1 tuition in English and Maths to learners ranging from Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) to Post-16. Many of these young people are currently out of school and require alternative provision that is flexible, nurturing, and tailored to their individual needs.



We're Especially Interested in Tutors With Experience In:

  • SEN (Special Educational Needs)
  • SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health)
  • EAL (English as an Additional Language)
  • Anxiety, EBSA (Emotionally Based School Avoidance), or Trauma-Informed Practice


As a Tutor you will:

  • Deliver tailored Maths and English sessions based on the learner's current level and gaps
  • Build a trusting relationship to support emotional wellbeing and engagement
  • Use creative and flexible teaching strategies to meet the learner's individual needs
  • Track progress and adapt sessions accordingly

About you:

  • Qualified or experienced tutors, teachers, or support staff
  • A compassionate and patient approach to learning
  • Ability to build trust and rapport with young people
  • Flexibility to travel within The New Forest area

Essential & Desirable Qualifications:

- Minimum of 1 year of experience working within UK schools- ESSENTIAL

To be eligible for this role through Prospero teaching, you must:

  • Hold right to work in the UK
  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
  • Provide references upon request
  • Possess up to date Safeguarding Training (or a willingness to undertake this)
